You asked to see how The Glasgow Academy compares across the major AI platforms. This is that comparison, measured rather than estimated, along with the three things we would change first.
Saigon Digital helped us increase awareness of BVIS and support admissions for the opening of our new campus. Through a focused SEO and AI visibility strategy, they helped more parents and families discover BVIS when searching online for international school options. Their work strengthened our digital presence and helped us reach prospective families at an important time for the school.

You asked how The Glasgow Academy compares across the major AI platforms. The short answer is that the comparison is not really about authority, because you already have more of it than the schools you are up against. Your domain rating is 31 against the High School of Glasgow on 28, and you hold 1,098 referring domains. Yet you rank for 27 organic keywords and they rank for 867. That gap of thirty-two to one is not an authority problem and it is not a content problem. It is a legibility problem, and the two measurements that follow explain almost all of it.
Everything below was measured directly against your site on 29 September 2026, across a sample of 40 pages.
GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User all return 200 with identical bytes. Nothing blocks retrieval. What arrives is a page that is 0.26% words.
You surface reliably on searches containing your name, and not at all on the comparison searches that precede a shortlist. 27 ranking keywords is the measurable version of this.
PerplexityBot returns 200. These engines quote whichever page states a fact plainly, which on Glasgow school questions is currently a directory or a forum rather than a school.
Google-Extended is not blocked. The limit is your structured data: there is no School entity anywhere on the site, and one address for four locations.
We requested your site as all twelve major AI and search crawlers, including GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and Applebot-Extended. Every one returned 200 OK with byte-identical content. Nothing is blocking them. We did not put questions to ChatGPT or Gemini and then screenshot the answers, because those outputs vary by user, location and day, and we will not build a recommendation on something you cannot reproduce. What we measured instead is the retrieval layer underneath them, which is stable, checkable, and the thing you can actually change.
It is what an engine finds once it arrives: a page that is 0.26% words, a single postal address covering four sites, and no School entity anywhere in your structured data. Those three facts explain why you rank for 27 keywords on authority that should carry several hundred.
We ran the exact searches your buyers use when asking AI tools to recommend a solution. Here is who appeared, and whether The Glasgow Academy was in the answer.
Your name is the switch. Put it in the query and your site answers well. Leave it out and the answer is assembled from Mumsnet, the Independent Schools Council and, on the single most important search of all, a housebuilder's blog. Those sources are describing your school to parents who have not yet heard of you.
None of this requires more authority, because you already out-rank these schools on domain rating. A site with 1,098 referring domains ranking for 27 keywords is a site whose pages cannot be read properly. Fix the reading and the authority you already own starts counting.
Note the domain ratings before anything else. You lead all three local schools on authority. The difference is entirely in what reaches an engine once it opens the page.
| Company | DR | ChatGPT | Google AIO | Perplexity | Why They Win |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Glasgow Academy You | 31 | Reachable | Branded only | Reachable | Audit target |
| High School of Glasgow | 28 | Cited | Appearing | Cited | 867 ranking keywords to your 27, on lower authority. Two campuses, two separate address entities. Home page is 82,434 bytes with 8.38% readable text. |
| Hutchesons' Grammar School | 28 | Partial | Appearing | Partial | Publishes Organization, Place, PostalAddress and ContactPoint. Home page 109,310 bytes with 6.86% readable text. |
| Kelvinside Academy | 28 | Partial | Partial | Partial | Closest to you in profile at 39 keywords, and the only local rival with a comparable payload problem. |
| Directories (ISC, Mytopschools, Schoolatlas, Tutopiya) | n/a | Cited | Appearing | Cited | Thin pages, but each one states fees, size and location in plain text. They took every result on the fees comparison search. |
| Mumsnet and Wikipedia | n/a | Cited | Appearing | Cited | Between them they own the head-to-head question. Mumsnet alone took 4 of 9 results on "Glasgow Academy vs High School of Glasgow". |

Three changes, in the order we would make them. The first one is a template edit and would move the largest single number in this report.
Two inline shapes are 1,152,509 bytes on every page. Served as ordinary image files instead of being redrawn inside the HTML, the page falls by roughly 92% and the proportion that is actual words rises from 0.26% to something normal. Nothing changes visually. This is the single highest-leverage change available to you and it is a template edit, not a redesign.
Add a proper School entity with a separate address, phone and coordinates for Kelvinbridge, Milngavie, Newlands and The Bridge, and give each one a page that states where it is, who it is for and how long it takes to reach. Today the Milngavie page carries 917 characters of text unique to Milngavie and declares the Kelvinbridge postcode. "Which Glasgow Academy site is nearest me" is a question you currently cannot win.
Your robots.txt contains three separate rule groups for the same audience, and the first one says to ignore the entire site. You are still being crawled, so nothing is on fire, but which rule wins depends on whose parser is reading it, and that is not a thing to leave to chance. While in there: /new-test-page/, /home-2/, /inner-hero/ and /academic/senior-school-2/ are all live and listed in your sitemap, and your site description is published as the word "test".
While auditing how AI sees The Glasgow Academy, we also looked at the website itself (WordPress with WooCommerce, Yoast and LiteSpeed). These specific issues are holding back both your AI visibility and how the site converts, and they are all fixable.
Across 40 pages: every page has a meta description, every page has an og:description, there are no duplicate titles, no duplicate descriptions, and exactly one heading per page. That is better than most schools we audit and it means the groundwork is already done. We are not asking you to start again.
There is no School or EducationalOrganization anywhere on the site, only a generic Organization. Its street address is filled in as "The Glasgow Academy", which is the name of the school rather than a street, so Colebrooke Street appears nowhere a machine can read it. The logo field holds a raw content-management record of about 1,900 characters instead of an image address.
Of 402 addresses listed in your sitemap, 232 are shop items, tags, categories and donation objects. Only 170 are pages. That is the proportion of your site an engine is invited to crawl first, and it is mostly uniform not prospectus.
Web development and WordPress are core strengths at Saigon Digital. Fixing the issues above is part of the work, not a separate project. We handle the AI visibility, the SEO, and the website itself.
This audit shows the problem. Fixing it usually means more than AI alone: the website, the SEO and the AI visibility all work together. We handle all three, then keep it growing.
You hold more authority than any school you compete with in Glasgow and rank for a thirtieth of the keywords. That gap closes by making pages readable, not by starting again. We would scope this as a fixed-price foundation sprint covering the payload, the four-site structure and the structured data, then a monthly retainer to keep it moving. Thirty minutes is enough to walk you through the findings and what each fix is worth.
Nick Rowe · CEO & Co-Founder, Saigon Digital
A fixed-price 3-month sprint: get cited in AI answers, fix the SEO foundations, and reposition and repair the website (development and WordPress included). One scope, one price.
A simple monthly retainer once the foundation is set: continued SEO and AI visibility growth, content, and website maintenance and support. Rolling monthly, no long lock-in.
Admissions runs on an annual cycle. The sources answering for you now, a housebuilder's blog and a parenting forum, are the ones families will read through this enrolment season.
